Michael Leunig in Conversation
Sponsored by Daybreak
The Capital Theatre, Bendigo
Sunday : May 13 ~ 3.00 pm
"Mother Earth - A Conversation with Michael Leunig"
Tired of always giving flowers and chocolates to your Mum on Mother’s Day? Looking for something you can enjoy together? Then bring her along to see Michael Leunig - Australian cartoonist, writer, painter, philosopher and poet at The Capital this Mother’s Day at 3.00 pm.
Michael's commentary on political, cultural and emotional life spans more than forty years and has often explored the idea of an innocent and sacred personal world. The fragile ecosystem of human nature and its relationship to the wider natural world is a related and recurrent theme.
His newspaper work appears regularly in the Melbourne Age and the Sydney Morning Herald. He describes his approach as regressive, humorous, messy, mystical, primal and vaudevillian - producing work which is open to many interpretations and has been widely adapted in education, music, theatre, psychotherapy and spiritual life.

We offer a place for stillness, resting from the pressures of life and finding peace and connection in our often noisy and busy world. It is not always easy for us to stop and be quiet in the midst of frenetic activity, yet most of us would agree that it is important to step back and be restored inwardly from time to time.
Daybreak House has quiet and welcoming spaces for individuals or groups to engage in reflection and meditation as well as programs for self-awareness and spiritual nurture.
Maximum numbers are 3 to live in and 15 for groups during the day or evening.
If you would like to visit us - to have a look around, get more information or have a cuppa and a chat - please phone and leave a message if necessary. Someone will then call you to arrange a suitable time for you to visit. You will certainly be made very welcome.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
We regret, because of the constraints of the building, that we cannot offer wheelchair access and our main meeting room is upstairs.
